Pink Skullcap
Common Name: Pink Skullcap
Scientific Name: Scutellaria Suffrutescens
Exposure: Full Sun
Size: 12" x 24"
Bloom Color: Pink, Yellow
Time: May - November
Notes: A delightful low mounding plant for the front of a border. It is evergreen in mild winters, loves heat, and likes occasional shearing. It tends to look thin and spindly the first year in the ground. We usually cut it down to about half height in early February and it fills out very nicely.

Purple Coneflower
Common Name: Purple Coneflower
Scientific Name: Echinacea Purpurea
Exposure: Full Sun-Part Shade
Size: 2' - 3'
Bloom Color: Pinkish Purple
Time: Spring, Summer, Fall
Notes: One of our favorite perennials, purple coneflowers bloom heavily in the spring and usually repeat well in summer and fall. We cut the spent flower stalk down close to the ground for a neater appearance, but this is not a plant for a very structured look as it is normally pretty floppy. They make great cut flowers, will tolerate some shade and are drought tolerant when established. They prefer well-drained soil and do very nicely with one or two applications of a complete, balanced fertilizer.
