  • 2015 Summer Break Camp @ The Houston Arboretum & NatureCenter - Fun-filled week long camps that explore the natural world through active hands-on indoor and outdoor adventures and hikes at this 155-acre nature sanctuary. Children are taught in classes by age: (5 & 6 yrs., 7 & 8 yrs., and 9-12 yrs.).   • TEXAS BOUND! @ Jessie H.   • Urban Harvest Class: Fall Vegetable Gardening from 9:00 am – 11:30 am with Instructors Jean Fefer and Bob Randall.   In this class you will learn will learn how to plant a Fall/Winter garden, (many veggies can even be planted in containers) when and where to plant, soil preparation, seed germination and transplanting a long list of vegetables, including lettuce, endive, radicchio, cress, kale, chard, cabbage, collards, bok choy, mustard, mizuna, arugula, kohlrabi, carrot, beet, rutabaga, potato, turnip, parsnip, radish, celeriac, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, snow pea, onion, multiplying onion, leek, garlic, garlic chives, cilantro/coriander, sorrel, fennel, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme, pea shoots and mint. .  Class to be held at University of St. Thomas, Anderson Hall, room 103: 3812 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, TX 77006.  Cost: $45  For more information visit: http://urbanharvest.org/classes-calendar

Martin Madness (Exact dates TBA for 2015) FREE.  More Info: http://www.houstonaudubon.org/- Purple Martin Watch Parties: Houston Audubon is hosted 4 Purple Martin Watch Parties last summer: on July 25, 2014 and August 8, 2014 they met at Stafford; on July 30, 2014  and August 2, 2014 at Willowbrook Mall. All parties began at 8 PM. At Stafford they met at the Fountains Shopping Center, in the parking lot in front of Old Navy and Rack Room Shoes. See directions below for directions to The Fountains. Meeting location for Willowbrook Mall on August 2, 2014: Park between Fed Ex Office and Fitness Unlimited on the south bound feeder of 249. We meet at 8 PM in front of Fitness Unlimited (17571 State Highway 249, Houston TX 77064).
